LEWISTON — Police charged five Lewiston High School students last week with assaulting a 16-year-old student on school property.
The five freshmen were issued summonses for misdemeanor assault Thursday by the school’s resource officer, Lt. David St. Pierre said Monday.
Their names have not been released because they are juveniles, St. Pierre said.
The assault happened April 5 on a path that starts at Caron Street and leads to the school, he said.
The incident was reported to the school’s resource officer, who is investigating, St. Pierre said.
Meanwhile, school staff will determine whether school policies were violated and what disciplinary measures should be taken, if any, because the incident occurred on school property, St. Pierre said.
