DEAR SUN SPOTS: Here we are again looking for help. Do you have some information in your miracle file for stained glass repair? It isn’t major, but one of the hanging eyelets has broken in my stained-glass piece and I would love to get it hung up again. Thank you.
— No name, Auburn
ANSWER: I know exactly who can help you with that. One of my favorite people in the whole wide world is stained-glass artist Jim Nutting in Lisbon Falls. His business, Maine Art Glass Studio, in the old church on 51 Main St., is simply amazing. Not only do he and his staff teach classes, make incredibly beautiful works of art, and sell all the supplies and pieces of art, but they do small repairs like yours. When you drop off your stained-glass artifact, be sure to take the time to tour the gallery and museum. The studio is open Monday-Saturday. Visit maineartglass.com for more information. To reach the studio, call 353-6700.
DEAR SUNSPOTS: For the person inquiring about bialys, Mr. Bagel on Pleasant Street in Brunswick makes them daily. It’s best to call ahead and have some put aside as they often sell out. There’s nothing like a bialy cheese, lettuce, tomato, and onion sandwich.
Thanks for the recipe, Sun Spots! I will give it a whirl.
