LEWISTON — The Associated Press Sports Editors announced recently that Justin Pelletier, managing editor nights/sports/digital at the Sun Journal, was elected third vice president.

His two-year term begins at the APSE summer convention June 17-20 in Nashville.

The third vice president is tasked with representing sports editors and sections from around the country in APSE’s smallest newspaper size category — those circulating fewer than 40,000 daily copies.

Pelletier, who will replace Robert Gagliardi of the Laramie (Wyoming) Boomerang, has worked at the Sun Journal since 2002. He became assistant sports editor in 2007, sports editor in 2012 and managing editor for nights, sports and digital in 2016.
