Transportation in the River Valley dinner

MEXICO — Region 9 truck driver instructor Eddy Naples and Ryan Kimball, culinary arts instructor, will host the second annual Transportation in the River Valley dinner at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, at Region 9 Vocational School.

Those involved in transportation in one fashion or another are invited. The last dinner was attended by plow truck drivers, oil truck drivers, delivery drivers, dump truck drivers, log haulers, equipment operators, school bus drivers, mechanics and sales people.

H.O. Bouchard Safety Director Steve Whitcomb will be the speaker and there will be door prizes.

Companies are asked to bring some sort of prizes for the raffle at the dinner. E-mail Region 9 to save a seat.

Volunteers needed for music festival

PARIS — The Paris Hill Music Festival was a great success in 2017 due to the volunteers who helped coordinate the event.

Now the second annual festival is being planned for Aug. 9 to 11 and volunteers are needed for every area.

Sewing, craft group to meet 

OTISFIELD — The Otisfield Sewing and Craft Group meets from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Wednesdays except the third Wednesday of each month at East Otisfield Free Baptist Church, 231 Rayville Road.

Members are a small group of women who bring their own projects to work on, although occasionally there are group projects.
