LISBON — The unattended death of a 61-year-old woman Sunday was ruled an accidental drowning by the state’s Medical Examiner’s Office.
Lisbon Police Chief Marc Hagan issued a statement Tuesday morning on the cause of death of Carol Plourde of Lisbon, whose body was pulled from a small private pond off Potter Road on Sunday.
Police were called at about 6 p.m. about a possible drowning.
When they arrived, they found the property owner had pulled the body out of the water. The autopsy was performed Monday.
Police are considering the case closed, but are asking anyone with information that may be relevant to the case to contact Detective Sgt. Bill Tapley.
