PARIS — The Rotary Club of Oxford Hills has announced the presentation of a Paul Harris Fellow Award to Richard Cormier. Cormier has been a teacher for Oxford Hills Technical School for 29 years.

The presentation of a Paul Harris Fellow recognition is the Rotary Foundation’s way of expressing its appreciation for a substantial contribution to its humanitarian and educational programs. It is named for the founder, Paul Harris, a Chicago lawyer who started Rotary International with three business associates in 1905.

Cormier has worked 26 years on Project Graduation celebrations. He is always available to staff, helping wherever he is needed. He has gone above and beyond for anyone who asks. He can be seen daily interacting with his students in graphic arts classes. Cormier has a way of keeping them motivated and teaches them a skill set in graphic arts. He brings useful knowledge from his business experiences, as he has been the owner of Grassroots Graphics for 14 years in Oxford and 32 years at The Printery Inc. in Bridgton.

Rotarians often designate a Paul Harris Fellow as a tribute to a person whose life demonstrates a shared purpose with the objectives of Rotary and practices their motto — Service Above Self.

To honor Cormier, $1,000 has been donated to the Rotary Foundation in his name.
