First Auburn Seniors to meet
AUBURN — The First Auburn Senior Citizens will meet Wednesday, May 2, for an anniversary party at Martindale Country Club. Doors will open at 10:30 a.m., and entertainment will be provided by Jose Duddy. Those attending must have a ticket.
There were 48 members present at the last meeting. Attendance winners were Lorraine Raymond and Nancy Roy; 50/50, David LePage, Brenda Chaplin and Linda Legere; and Pot of Gold, Brenda Chaplin, Leroy Walker and Pat Ross.
Dentist offering free dental care
AUBURN — Riverview Dental will hold a “Dentistry with a Heart Day” from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, May 11. Staff will provide free dental care to low income families and individuals experiencing financial hardship and homelessness, as well as military service veterans. Several dentists, hygienists and dental professionals will donate their services.
The appointments are intended for patients who are financially unable to pay for dental treatment, have no dental insurance, have not seen a dentist in over two years and are in urgent need of treatment.
To schedule a dental cleaning, filling or simple extraction appointment, call and leave a message stating name, telephone number and which dental service needed at 207-200-4081. Calls will be returned within a week.
Cemetery association plans fundraiser
AUBURN — The North Auburn Cemetery Association will hold a bottle and can fundraiser during May to help cover the cost of repairing fallen and broken gravestones.
Call Don Lebel at 207-782-4182 for pick-up. Donations may also be made payable to North Auburn Cemetery Association.
LACO plans food drive
LISBON FALLS — The Lisbon Area Christian Outreach Food Pantry will be holding the semi-annual food drive, bake sale and bottle drive from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, May 11, and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 12, at Food City, Route 196.
The outreach needs bakers, nonperishable food items, redeemable bottles and cans. Items can be dropped off at Food City by 9 a.m. Friday, May 11. Cash donations are also needed to keep the pantry running. Make checks payable to LACO Food Pantry. Those who cannot drop off goods or donations may call Bert at 207-216-3460 before Thursday, May 10, for pick-up.
KC council offers scholarships
LEWISTON — The Rev. Louis J. Fortier Council 106, Knights of Columbus, is offering scholarships to graduating local and out-of-state high school students entering their first year of college or vocational school. Tuition assistance may also be available for St. Dominic Academy students.
To qualify for either college scholarships or St. Dom’s tuition assistance, the student’s father or grandfather must be a current member of Council 106.

Friends of Cumston Library seeking plant donations
MONMOUTH — The Friends of Cumston Library are seeking perennials from local gardens to sell at their Saturday, May 19, May Faire.
