NORTH JAY — The Maine Small Business Development Centers are offering three free workshops on marketing Tuesday evenings, May 15, 22 and June 5.

Each two-hour workshop begins at 5:30 p.m. at the Jay Niles Library, 983 Main St., North Jay. There is no cost to attend but registration is required because space is limited. 

The sessions are led by Dick Dyer, APR, who has worked to market businesses nationally for more than 35 years. Business owners will develop a better understanding of their marketing strategy for their business. Seminars will help them create their marketing message, understand their customers and develop inexpensive marketing strategies that work including digital and social media.

Session I, May 15 — Understanding Your Business’ Message and Goals. Time will be spent on understanding your business, why anyone should care about it, what you are trying to accomplish through your product or service and understanding and defining your marketing goals.

Session II, May 22 — Understanding Your Customers and Brand Influencers. The second session builds on the first session to dig into understanding your audience and those who influence your business. The session covers how to research your market, and refine your marketing messages and strategies for those audiences.

Session III, June 5 — Understanding Marketing Strategies and Digital Marketing Tools. This session discusses strategies and tools available to get your marketing message out to your customers. Topics include branding, logo, website, audio, video and print materials, along with the uses of digital marketing tools that include social media.
