AUBURN — Helene D. (Arcidiacono) Cortigene, 85, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Sunday, May 13, at Clover Manor. She was born in Philadelphia, PA, on Jan. 28, 1933, the daughter of the late Salvatore and Fillipina (Musumeci) Arcidiacono.
Helene ran the Brule House in Auburn for over 40 years and she cherished the relationship that she developed with each of her tenants. In 1953, she married the love of her life, Louis Cortigene and they shared a loving marriage of over 62 years until his passing in 2015. Helene was passionate about the arts, including theater, movies, music and especially dancing.
Helene is survived by her daughter, Lisa M. Gribbin; her son, Anthony L. Cortigene and partner, Ann Sylvester; her brother, Benjamin Arcidiacono; her two granddaughters, Nicole J. Taiani and husband, Anthony W., and Randall J. Gribbin; her great-grandson, Anthony W. Taiani II; and her special niece, Janet A. Tenaglia.
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband; and her twin sisters, Marie Francione and Jean Ranieri.
