ALBANY — The last workshop in Oxford County Soil & Water Conservation District’s late winter/spring series, will introduce participants to growing cranberries.
Cranberries score among the highest of all fruits in antioxidants and the consumption of fruits and vegetables high in antioxidants may help support memory function and coordination. Cholesterol-free, fat-free and low in sodium, they can help maintain a healthy heart.
The workshop will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 26, at Woodward Cranberry Farm, 41 Dundee Road. Woodward’s berries grow on bushes, so there is no need to flood them before picking. The workshop will lead participants through the steps of planting, growing and harvesting cranberries.
Preregistration is required; $20 per family includes materials and snacks. Call 207-744-3119 for more information or to register for this workshop.
