AUBURN — Phyllis Henderson of Auburn passed away peacefully at the Hospice House on Friday, May 18.

She had just recently celebrated her 90th birthday with family and friends. Before moving to Maine in 2003, Phyllis resided in Framingham Mass., where she had served as patient coordinator for the Framingham Heart Study, a Boston University and government program on health issues, and was also a Shine Counselor. In retirement, she was a volunteer receptionist at Central Maine Medical Center, 12 High St., for nine years.

She is survived by her daughter, Laurie Hunter Henderson, of Lewiston; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren, whom she loved to the moon and stars: Lindsey Retelle Hanson and husband, Eric, and daughter, Emily Grace; Brian Perry Retelle and wife, Ayla, and son, Hunter; Riki Retelle and wife, Ali, and son, Raymond.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Perry Hunter Henderson; her daughter, Lee Marcia Retelle; and her great-granddaughter, Khloe Elizabeth Retelle.

Also surviving is her only cousin, Lee Pierce Hull, and many loving nieces, nephews and in-laws.
