FARMINGTON — The Franklin County Animal Shelter has announced that Thurston is its Dog of the Week and Sage is the Cat of the Week.

Thurston is a 1- to 3-year-old male beagle. He has a beagle’s beagle with a loud voice and a nose for hunting. He has a strong chase drive, so he would be best suited to a home without cats. He would make an excellent hunter’s companion.

Sage is 4- to 6-year old female cat. She is a sweet, beautiful girl who is seeking a lap to curl up in.

Thurston, Sage and other pets can be seen at the shelter from noon to 5 p.m. Tuesdays to Saturdays at 550 Industry Road. Cats and dogs are spayed or neutered prior to adoption and have been vaccinated for rabies, treated for fleas, have had nails trimmed and are microchipped. The shelter also rehomes barn cats, livestock and other pets.
