LIVERMORE FALLS — June is “Food for Fines” month at Treat Memorial Library, 56 Main St. For the entire month, the library will be accepting nonperishable food instead of late fines. All food collected will be taken to the local Food Cupboard.
Replacing individual reading goals, the Summer Reading Program 2018: Libraries Rock will feature a Wall of Sound bulletin board representing everything read as a group. Readers can participate and earn prizes for books read by dropping in at any point from June 23 to Aug. 2. For every book or 30 minutes of reading, a musical note will be added to the Wall of Sound.
Summer Reading Program Kick-Off: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 23. This will feature games, crafts, food and prizes.
SRP 2018 — Libraries Rock: 6 p.m. Thursday, June 28. Chewonki Traveling Natural History Programs will present Scales and Tails, featuring live reptiles.
Knit and Crochet: 5:30 p.m. Tuesdays. This group is also open to other craft enthusiasts.
Book Group: 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 24. The group continues the She Persisted: Biographies of Great Women in History series with a discussion on “Cleopatra: A Life” by Stacy Schiff.
Preschool Story Time: 10:30 a.m. Wednesdays. Featuring stories, activities, and crafts.
Lego Club: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 16. Builders can take on the challenge of the month or build whatever they want.
