LIVERMORE FALLS — A Lewiston man and his sister were arrested when he failed to stop for police and she interfered with an investigation, Lt. Joseph Sage said Tuesday.

James Daniels, 31, and Alicia Mackerron, 26, were booked at the Androscoggin County Jail in Auburn on Friday. He is being held without bail, and she was released on personal recognizance Friday morning, a corrections officer said Tuesday evening.

According to the lieutenant, Officer Darian Nadeau tried to stop Daniels’ vehicle on Main Street for a defect, but he continued driving to his sister’s house on Otis Street in Jay. Mackerron came outside yelling and swearing and tried to interfere.

She was arrested on misdemeanor charges of refusing to submit to arrest, disorderly conduct and obstructing government administration.

Daniels was arrested on misdemeanor charges of failing to give the correct name and date of birth, two counts of refusing to submit to arrest and failure to stop, and two warrants, Sage said.
