LEWISTON — Preston “Kickie” C. Plummer, 74, of Mechanic Falls passed away Monday, May 21, at Central Maine Medical Center. He was born in Raymond on Oct. 6, 1943, the son of James N. and Dorothy Reynolds Plummer.
He graduated from Mechanic Falls High School in 1962 and served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He traveled the country cooking before coming home, where he took over J.J.’s Restaurant in Mechanic Falls.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 150 in Mechanic Falls. He enjoyed fishing with his friend, Russ Day, and camping with his nephews, especially Michael. He loved making biscuits, whoopie pies and pretzels for his family and friends. He enjoyed going for rides and doing things with Ronda and Rachel.
He is survived by his wife of Mechanic Falls, Linda Berry Plummer; his brothers and sisters Jimmy and wife, Ruth, Sandra Ballard and husband, Stacy, Sheila Harris and husband, Chub, Penny Emery and husband, Bud, Billy Plummer and wife, Joan, Ricky Plummer and wife, Lori, Rudy Plummer, Randy Plummer and Lena and Claudia Mercier and husband, Dan; stepchildren Debbie Cleaves and husband, Mike and Jason Fish; grandchildren Ashley and Robbie Cleaves; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, aunts and uncles; his children Scott, Dana and Theresa; and his best friends, Gary Thurlow and Russ Day.
He was predeceased by his parents; two nieces, Theresa and Ronda; and a nephew-in-law, Gary.
