I cannot wrap my brain around two thoughts.

Why do some Paris selectmen criticize the Paris Budget Committee for “rubber-stamping” the town manager’s budget, which came in with no increase in property taxes, no increase in spending and no cuts to services?

How can the Paris Selectmen recommend to Paris taxpayers a municipal budget that cuts $92,237 to town services and yet increases spending $66,070 over last year’s budget and increases property taxes? All this, in a year blessed with a surplus of over $820,000!
