See Jupiter at Observatory Night
PARIS — The free Monthly Open Observatory Night will be held from 9:30 to 11 p.m. Friday, June 1, at Twitchell Observatory, featuring “Gigantic Jupiter,” weather/cloud cover-permitting. The rain date will be Saturday, June 2.
Observatory volunteers will show visitors many spring night sky wonders, including the planet Jupiter with four moons.

Vendors sought for Founder’s Day
PARIS — The Hamlin Memorial Library & Museum is accepting vendor applications for the 40th annual Founder’s Day, which will take place on Saturday, July 21.
Cost is $40 per 20-by-20-foot space if reserved more than one month prior to the event. The fee increases to $50 for spaces reserved within one month of the event.

Knitting Group takes meeting break
HARRISON — Caswell Conservancy Center has announced that the Knitting Group has halted meetings. The meetings will resume on Sept. 10.

NORWAY — The Pine Needles chapter of the state wide Pine Tree Quilters Guild meets from 9 a.m. to noon on Thursdays in the community room of the Norway Town Office, year-round.
Both hand and machine quilters are welcome.
There is a schedule of optional activities such as occasional road trips, group projects and monthly trips out for lunch.
