DEAR SUN SPOTS: Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish Annual Yard Sale will be held on Saturday, June 9 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.at Sacred Heart Church, 8 Sacred Heart Place, Auburn.

Paris Mfg. wooden folding chairs, furniture, including a complete dining room set, desks, office chairs, office supplies, light fixtures, interior doors, housewares, jewelry and sporting goods are among the items already received. Much more continues to arrive daily. We welcome donations. Please contact Bonnie Stone at 207-783-9608 and leave a message with your phone number to set up a time for your items to be dropped off.

The proceeds will benefit the Sr. Elizabeth Platt Pipe Organ Fund. The organ is being refurbished and will be installed at Sacred Heart Church soon.

All leftover items are donated to the AT Fundraiser Yard Sale, which will be held at a later date in Jay. The proceeds of that sale will benefit research for a cure for this incurable, neurological childhood disease. We usually donate a small trailer load of items to the AT group each year for their very worthy cause. Donate and come by to purchase great items and help two great causes.

Much appreciation to you. You do such a great job for the community.

ANSWER: For those who do not know, AT refers to ataxia-telangiectasia syndrome or Louis–Bar syndrome, a rare, neurodegenerative, autosomal recessive disease causing severe disability. Many thanks to this organization for contributing to this medical research.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Members of The Carthage Generations Club are requesting that Carthage residents clean out their basements, attics, garages and all spaces in between! Join us for a community-wide yard sale on Saturday, June 16. All you have to do is set your treasures on your lawn and enjoy the day. The club will do some advertising for this event, but everyone participating is encouraged to do individual advertising with your specific address to help increase traffic. If you would like to participate, please call 207-357-6456.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I would like to find a gentleman named Hank. I last saw him when he was driving the Community Concepts bus on March 9. I used to work with him about 20 years ago at the bank. If he, or anyone who knows him, could contact me at 207-216-0274, I’d appreciate it. Community Concepts can’t give out his information.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: In Sun Spots May 31, a reader was inquiring about what they could do with their gift certificate from Kathy’s Diner in Mechanic Falls because the restaurant seemed to be closed. The restaurant is alive and well and open seven days a week from 6 a.m. to 1-2 p.m. depending on the day of the week. They were closed for a winter vacation.
