Jordan Waterman, 26, of Lewiston was charged Tuesday with elevated aggravated assault, criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, reckless conduct and violation of conditions of release, according to the Lewiston Police Department.

A 26-year-old man was shot in the leg at about 4:14 a.m. Saturday during a fight with Waterman, according to Lt. David St. Pierre. The injury was not considered life-threatening.

According to police, the victim and the suspect are acquaintances and the shooting was the result of an earlier argument. Waterman was taken to the Androscoggin County Jail.

The arrest was not related to the ongoing investigation into the fight June 12 at Kennedy Park.

Waterman’s bail was set at $150,000. His first court date had not been set as of Tuesday.
