LEWISTON — Lewiston Senior Citizens met June 4 and heard Lewiston City Clerk Kathy Montejo speak about ranked-choice voting.
She said that voters will also vote on a referendum that asks if they want to continue ranked-choice voting for future elections in Maine.
The meeting was followed with an ice cream social. Because there are no meetings in July and August the group celebrated the May and June birthdays.
On Monday, Aug. 27, members will have Senior Fun Day at the Lewiston Armory for members and those interested in becoming members. A 9 a.m. bingo game will be followed by outside games and activities. Lunch will be served at noon, followed by door prizes and raffles.
Tickets are $8 per person and can be purchased from 8 a.m. to noon Monday through Thursday, at the Senior Office, 65 Central Ave. Deadline to sign up is Thursday, Aug. 16.
