SABATTUS — The Maine Turnpike Authority is closing the Fisher Farm Road bridge over the turnpike July 9 for up to 21 days for repairs.

The $360,000 project will replace worn surfaces, repair joints and the concrete deck and install a 6-foot, chain-link snow fence, according to the MTA.

The bridge was built in 1956 and last repaired in 1994.

For about 600 automobiles that cross over the bridge each day, the MTA will have signs up that guide motorists through the 5.2-mile detour route.
