AUGUSTA — Secretary of State Matthew Dunlap has announced a change in the visitation schedule for the Bureau of Motor Vehicle’s mobile driver license unit in Bridgton at the Bridgton Town Office, 10 Iredale St.
The mobile units, staffed by BMV personnel, make regularly scheduled visits to provide license services in areas that are a significant distance away from the 13 BMV branch offices.
Effective July 5, the Bridgton mobile unit’s hours of operation will change to 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., with no closure for staff lunches, to accommodate more customers who arrive during that time period.
Thursday, June 28 will be the final day of the current hours, which are 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 to 3 p.m. The scheduled visit days will remain the same — the first and last Thursdays, and the second Tuesday, of each month.
If this is not convenient, customers may also travel to the South Paris mobile unit on the last Monday of the month, which is open from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 to 3 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 34 Buckfield Road. The Lewiston branch office is also nearby, open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The mobile unit and branch office information is posted online at http://www.maine.gov/sos/bmv/locations/index.html.
Applicants affected by the changes who need an extension on their driver’s license may contact License Services at 207-624-9000, ext. 52114. Additionally, the Department of the Secretary of State offers many online services.
