FARMINGTON — Dopey, a 1- to 3-year-old male hound mix, and Ricky, a 4- to 6-year-old male cat, are the Pets of the Week at Franklin County Animal Shelter.
Dopey is a typical hound — lots of energy and noise with a nose for smelling everything he can. Dopey would like to meet other dogs that are part of potential families to see if they’d get along, however, his future family shouldn’t have cats.
Ricky is a very laid-back guy who loves to hang out on the top of the cat tree. He isn’t social with other cats at the shelter and usually sleeps the day away, pretending they are not here.
Dopey, Ricky and other pets may be visited at the shelter from noon to 5 p.m. Tuesdays to Saturdays at 550 Industry Road. Cats and dogs are spayed or neutered prior to adoption and have been vaccinated for rabies, treated for fleas, microchipped and have had nail trims. The shelter also rehomes barn cats, livestock and other pets.
