LIVERMORE FALLS — Sharon Lee (Murphy) Girardin, 68, of Livermore Falls passed away Tuesday, July 3.
Sharon was born in Farmington on July 9, 1949, the second daughter of John “Jack” and Sylvia (Nichols) Murphy. She attended local schools and graduated summa cum laude from State University College at Buffalo, N.Y., in 1972.
On June 6, 1970, Sharon married her high school sweetheart, Gerard Girardin. They made their first home in Buffalo, then Fort Greely, Ala., Jay and lastly in Livermore Falls. Sharon held positions in teaching and as a pharmacy technician, but her primary job was her family, her son Erik and daughter Heide. She was passionate about their scholastic and sports activities, and fanatical about healthy organic living as she created meals that were nourishing, unique and tasty. Who knew that ground kale and quinoa pancakes would taste good and be good for you!!!
Her creativity didn’t stop at meals; she was equally talented with a paintbrush and with the sewing machine, making clothes, gifts, Christmas ornaments and decorations for every holiday and occasion. After Gerard’s retirement in 2015, they enjoyed road trips to visit Heide and husband Erik in New Jersey and going to dances in Chelsea and Minot.
Sharon is survived by Gerard Girardin of Livermore Falls; her daughter, Heide, and her husband, Erik Hassing, of Stanhope, N.J.; sister, Gayle, and husband, Jim Long, of Livermore Falls; sister, Wendy Murphy, of Canton; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents and her son, Erik, in 2014.
