DEAR SUN SPOTS: You were very helpful to me before so I’m hoping you can help me out again. I’m looking for someone in the Woodstock-Norway area who will come to check out my refrigerator. It’s a GE Profile with an ice maker. I’m not sure what year it is as we got it second-hand. It isn’t freezing as well as it should. The fridge gets cold enough to keep food from spoiling, but doesn’t get real cold. Any help you or your readers can give me would be great.

ANSWER: This is not the time of year to be without a refrigerator in good working order! I do hope you can limp along with this worrisome issue until a good repairman can be on the job. Mike’s Appliance and Repair can be called at 207-539-2424. If readers in the Norway area have other recommendations, please contact Sun Spots right away!

DEAR SUN SPOTS: In regards to June 27 Sun Spots, “Hee Haw” can be seen at 8 p.m. Sunday nights on RFD TV if you have Time Warner (Spectrum) cable. The channel is an added one and costs $4.95. It’s listed under HD Pass Ch. 297. Hope this helps.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: If money was sent to the Cub Scouts how come they don’t send a thank you? Don’t they like getting donations?

—No name, Lewiston

ANSWER: Although thank you notes should ideally be mailed out immediately, there just aren’t enough hands to make sure this happens in a timely manner. As a volunteer for a few nonprofit organizations, I can assure you that everyone is well-meaning and not setting out to ignore our wonderful donors or to be ill-mannered.

Sometimes organizations send out a blanket thank you mailing at the end of the year so donations can be claimed on your income taxes. If you need your thank you letter for this purpose, contact the organization. Otherwise, know that you have donated to a worthy cause and be happy in the knowledge that you have helped them out.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I know a lot of people in this area would like to find out why the Mexico One Stop, a local landmark, closed so suddenly and without warning.
