AUGUSTA — Joseph Stephen Marston, 36, died Friday, July 6, at his residence in Augusta.
He was born in Rumford on Feb. 26, 1982, and was the son of Stephen and Bonnie (Childs) Marston. He graduated from Mountain Valley High School/Nova Tech Program in Rumford, Class of 2001. He received an associate degree at Kaplan University in 2003 in Travel and Tourism and an associate degree in Forestry Management at the University of Maine in Orono in 2001.
He served four years in the U.S. Army at Fort Irwin, Calif., as a radar repair technician and was employed in the Logistics Department at the Veterans’ Warehouse in Augusta.
Joseph enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing, hunting and 4-wheeling, and loved spending time with his family.
Survivors include his parents, Stephen and Bonnie Marston, of Andover; maternal grandparents, James and Glynda Childs, of Andover; niece, Olivia Rowe, nephew, Michael Rowe who were the loves of his life and brother-in-law Jeff Rowe, all of Waterford; Aunt Linda Clark and Uncle Mike of Mechanic Falls, Aunt (Peggy) Margaret Nadeau and Uncle Lewis of Norway; Uncle Patrick Childs of Andover and Uncle Rick Childs and Aunt Mary of Worthley Pond in Peru; several cousins including his best buds Jeremy Childs of Carthage and Katie Young of Poland and the incredible team of loving, caring individuals from the Veterans Court Program.
Joe is now in the protective arms of his sister, Christine Rowe, who predeceased him in 2014.
