DEAR SUN SPOTS: I’m interested in finding out about high school class members who are celebrating with their 50th or more reunion this summer. Please write to Sun Spots with your contact information. Thank you!

DEAR SUN SPOTS: The Lewiston School Department held a job fair in May but I couldn’t make it that day. Could you find out if they are planning another one anytime soon?

—No name, no town

ANSWER: I called the school department and that event only takes place once a year, always in May, so keep your eyes and ears open when next spring rolls around!

DEAR SUN SPOTS: We’ve had a fantastic turnout for book donations at the Maine Correctional Center, but we’ve run out of room. So, for now, we have to stop receiving books. We’ll ask Sun Spots to let everyone know when we can accept books again.

Thank you so much everyone, for helping to contribute to our library. We never expected this level of response, and I look forward to being able to accept more donations in the future.

—Kaitlyn, Correctional Librarian, Maine Correctional Center, Windham

ANSWER: You are so welcome! Kaitlyn’s note is in response to a Sun Spots we ran last fall. Through this column, readers got the word out far and wide. Now the women at Maine Correctional Center have many new choices for reading. Thank you to everyone who contributed to the library there.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: As an Activity Coordinator at Montello Heights Retirement Community, I am always looking for new entertainment to offer our tenants. I have several wonderful singers and musicians, but I would like to find a new variety of acts, demonstrations, speakers or instructional classes to offer to them. If you or anyone you know has a talent, skill or some experiences you would like to share, please call Marlene at Montello Heights at 207-786-7149 or just stop in from Monday through Friday 8 a.m to 3:30 p.m.

ANSWER: What a wonderful opportunity for talented folks in the area to share their skills and warm people’s hearts in the process! You don’t have to be a professional, just someone who likes to share and make people smile.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Does anyone know of a place that sells locally grown peaches and when they will be ready?

—Marilyn, Leeds

ANSWER: Check with Farmer Whiting’s at 882 Summer St. in Auburn (207-782-4356) and Boothby’s Orchard at 366 Boothby Road, Route 108 East in Livermore (207-754-3500). Peaches are very tricky to grow here in Maine, but I hope you have some luck. Readers, chime in!

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I very much enjoy reading your column daily! I’d like to sever my ties with my unaffordable cable TV company. Being disabled, it would be very hard for me to mount an “over the air” antennae high on my house and wire it to my TVs. Do you know of someone who can do this for me for an affordable price in the Lewiston area? I’d very much appreciate it!

—No name, Lewiston

ANSWER: This sounds like a job for a reliable local handyman who doesn’t mind getting on a ladder. Readers, can you recommend someone to help this writer stay within his budget and still be able to enjoy some of his TV programs?
