FARMINGTON — Franklin County Animal Shelter’s Cat of the Week is one of the shelter’s longest feline residents.

Junior, a 4-to 6-year-old male, has lived at the shelter since February, and staff members suppose that’s because he’s still a bit shy. He loves to stay on the very top shelf of the cat room where he can watch all the goings-on in peace. Junior is a sweet guy, and he’s hoping for a quiet home willing to let him be himself.

Toby, the 1-year-old Dog of the Week, is a male Staffy mix. He loves cuddles and people. He’s not quite sure how he feels about other dogs, but he doesn’t get along well with cats. Toby has a laid-back temperament, so he’d be a great fit for most anyone.

Toby, Junior and other pets may be visited at the shelter from noon to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays at 550 Industry Road.

Cats and dogs are spayed or neutered prior to adoption and have been vaccinated for rabies, treated for fleas, microchipped and have had nail trims. The shelter also finds homes for barn cats, livestock and other pets.
