POLAND — The Poland Spring Preservation Society will be hosting the Grass Holes at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 6. The Grass Holes are a five-piece bluegrass outfit featuring fast-paced originals, traditional numbers and creative takes on popular tunes in the bluegrass style. The band features the Bangor Symphony’s Heather Kahill; UMaine-Augusta music school graduate Flann O’Brien; Sam Pfeifle, formerly of indie rock trio Brenda Walsh; WMPG radio host and P.S.P.S Board Member Merrill Marsh; and on the five-string banjo, Field Rider.
Poland Spring Preservation Society will host free concerts every Monday evening throughout the summer. Concerts will take place outside at the gazebo at Poland Spring Resort. In case of rain, concerts will be held in the All Soul’s Chapel. All concerts are free and open to the public.
The Society’s mission is to preserve the historic buildings and educate the public about Poland’s Spring’s unique place in history. The museums are open to the public May through October.
There is no admission fee and there is ample parking for all. Suggested donation is $5. Water is provided and hot dogs will be for sale.
