ERIE, Pa. (AP) — Jake Rogers hit a three-run home run in the sixth inning, leading the Erie SeaWolves to a 5-3 win over the Portland Sea Dogs on Tuesday.
John Schreiber got Danny Mars to ground out with a runner on first to end the game for his 15th save of the season.
The home run by Rogers, part of a four-run inning, gave the SeaWolves a 4-3 lead before Sergio Alcantara hit a sacrifice fly later in the inning.
After Erie put up one run in the fourth inning, Portland took a 3-1 lead on an RBI single by Tate Matheny in the sixth inning.
Kurt Spomer (3-0) got the win with a scoreless inning in relief while Portland starter Matthew Kent (7-8) took the loss in the Eastern League game.
For the Sea Dogs, Michael Chavis singled four times, also stealing a base.
