DEAR SUN SPOTS: I’m looking to buy chokecherries that I can use to make jelly. I’m hoping someone in the Franklin County area can direct me to a source, or keep me in mind as the season approaches. Please call me at 207-778-4246. I really enjoy your column. Thanks for all you do.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I want to tell you another great story of some very honest people we have here in our community.
On Thursday, July 26, I stopped at Hannaford on Sabattus Street. After retrieving a few items I needed, I returned to my car, and must have dropped my little AAA folder with cash in it. When I got home, I couldn’t find it so I returned to Hannaford to see if someone had found it and possibly turned it in. It had a substantial amount of cash in it, but no name or telephone number. When I went to customer service, the young gentleman told me he thought they had just what I had lost.
Sure enough, when he showed me what had been turned in, it was mine, all intact. I was so happy and thankful.
I want to thank the person who found it for being so honest and generous for helping me get my money back. If this person reads Sun Spots, be assured you have proven to me that there are more good, honest people in this country than not. Thank you again so very much and God Bless! I’m so thankful!

ANSWER: I do love sharing these good Samaritan stories. In times such as these, it’s good to have these heart-warming snippets. This story, in particular, brought a smile to my face.
DEAR SUN SPOTS: We recently had three streets in Lewiston (Dion, Genest and Hevey) resurfaced and when the berm was taken out where my driveway starts, the berm wasn’t set as high as it was before. Last week during the rainstorm, water from Genest Street came down my driveway and into my garage. With a longer period of rain the water would have gone into my cellar. I need to have this problem fixed.
We also have problems with the lawn since it was reseeded. There are a lot of weeds and the grass isn’t growing in many spots.
