Maine Woodcarver’s Association competition
POLAND — The Maine Woodcarver’s Association will present the 2018 Woodcarving Show and Competition from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, at the Poland Town Hall, 1231 Maine St.
Admission will be free. The event is open to the public.
Hope House plans Portland trip
LEWISTON — The Hope House will offer free trip to visit Portland Head Light.
Families will board buses at 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, at the Family Support Center, 91 College St. The event will include lunch.

Park Avenue Pickers jam session
AUBURN — The Park Avenue Pickers will host an open jam session for all interested musicians at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, at the Auburn United Methodist Church, 439 Park Ave.
Musicians can bring any type of music yo play. This is open to all levels of acoustic musicians from beginners to advanced.
Those attending should bring instruments, lyrics and music.
