DEAR SUN SPOTS: You asked for information about class reunions in the July 16 Sun Spots so I wanted to make sure you had this information.
The Lisbon Golden Reunion will be held on Sept. 8 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Ramada Inn in Lewiston. The reunion is open to all who graduated from, or attended, Lisbon High School or Lisbon Falls High School 50 years ago or earlier, and their guests. People are attending from many classes from 1943 through 1968. The festivities will begin at 11 a.m. with a time to socialize; followed by a dinner served buffet-style at 12:30 p.m. Music will be provided by DJ Mike Violette during the reunion featuring music from the ’40s, ’50s and ’60s. The cost is $30 per person.
If you didn’t get registration information, please contact the Golden Reunion at nviolette1@roadrunner.com or at 207-353-8013 and leave a message. The Lisbon Golden Reunion has a Facebook page, where you can find registration forms and information about the reunion and connect with other classmates. Over 100 attendees are registered so far and people are coming not just from Maine and New England, but from all over the United States. The final date for registration is Aug. 31.
The Ramada Inn has set aside several rooms for attendees at reduced rates if reservations are made prior to Aug 24.
Each year, in addition to donations, a raffle is held at the reunion to benefit the Golden Reunion Scholarship Fund. This year two scholarships of $1,000 each have been awarded to Melissa Wood and Benjamin Leclair.
Committee members are Nancy Violette, Leon Kenney, Caroline Poirier, Merton Ricker, Terry Ridley, Beth Gamache, Carolyn Jones, Maryrose Carter and Doug Carter.
Thank you for the great information you provide to the community.

ANSWER: I’m including everything you sent because I want to make sure that even if Lisbon High and Lisbon Falls High Schools alumnae can’t attend, they can still make a donation to the scholarship fund or donate items for the raffle. Thank you for sharing this with Sun Spots. It sounds like a fantastic event!
DEAR SUN SPOTS: I hope one of your many readers can help me find an indoor spider plant. Maybe someone in the Oxford Hills or Lewiston-Auburn area would like to give one away or share a cutting so I can start my own. I can be reached at 207-674-2554. I’m one of your many fans who read Sun Spots daily and gain much helpful information. Thank you for your help.

ANSWER: Spider plants are easy to root. I hope someone will share one or two of their babies! You have to be careful though or they will take over your house as they are so quick and fun to grow.
DEAR SUN SPOTS: Once again we are turning to you and your readers. We are looking for puzzles again for our senior housing friends at Merrill Estates in Mechanic Falls. Our last request had an overwhelming response which we paid forward. If you find you have some puzzles you no longer use, please give us a call at 207-345-7019. Thank you!
