OTISFIELD — Anthony Jordan, 78, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday, Aug. 25, 2018.
Tony was born on Oct. 5, 1939, in Lewiston, the youngest of five children of G. Marshall and Beatrice Jordan. He grew up in the town of Poland with his parents and siblings Eleanore, Bob, Gerry and Gloria (all predeceased), and remained close to his entire family throughout their lives.
Soon after graduating from Edward Little High School in 1957, Tony met his future wife, Sandra Fickett. They settled into the small town of Otisfield, where they enjoyed 58 years together, raising two children, establishing lifelong friendships and volunteering in the community.
Tony was a hard worker his entire life, and made his career as a plumber, partnering with his father-in-law to operate Fickett & Jordan Plumbing for more than 50 years. In addition to helping his customers whenever they needed him, Tony also volunteered as a member of the Otisfield Fire Department for 56 years, serving as a firefighter, Assistant Chief and Deputy Chief. He regularly attended the Spurrs Corner Church and always made time to help at the community suppers. Tony rarely missed a concert, performance or game in which one of his kids or grandkids participated. He will be well remembered for his strong work ethic, contributions to his community, helping friends and others in need and for always putting his family first.
Tony leaves behind his wife, Sandy Jordan, of Otisfield; a daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Marshall Bullock, of Raymond; a son and daughter-in-law, Kyle and Jeni Jordan, of Otisfield; granddaughters Molly and Mackenzie Jordan and Carlee and Alyson Cash, and a very special “grandson,” Kaleb Currier; several nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.
Anthony N. Jordan
