PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. — Fern Hughes, 74, of Port St. Lucie, Fla., died Monday, Aug. 27, after a long illness.
He was born in Lewiston on Nov. 27, 1943, the son of Rosario and Helena (Roy) Hughes. He was married May 31, 1964, to Therese Lamarre.
He was employed at Armour Meats, Hillcrest Poultry and Pioneer Plastics. He and his wife owned and operated Roberts Card Center before they moved to Florida.
Fern loved to go fishing and he loved horse racing.
He is survived by his wife, Therese; and four brothers: Henry of California and Robert (Mary), Arthur (Helen) and Roger (Rae), all of Lewiston.
He was predeceased by his mother and father, and by two brothers: Richard and Donald.
At his request, there will be no services.
