AUBURN — It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Grace R. Laliberte, 87, of Auburn, Sunday, Aug. 26, at the Hospice House after a brief illness.
Born to the late Joseph and Elodie Forgues in Jackman on Feb. 4, 1931, she lived and worked most of her life in Auburn and Lewiston.
Along with raising 10 children, she could dance the night away, loved the flea market, a good game of dice, playing bingo as much as she could and in her later years, bird-watching. Visits with her always consisted of some coffee, a guarantee of being fed and most definitely the feeling of being loved. She was the backbone of our family and we will proudly carry on her legacy and our gratitude for all she did for us.
She is survived by her daughters Lorraine (Gerard) Bilodeau of Sabattus and Pauline Lessard of Auburn; her sons Robert Giguere, Ronald Giguere, Norman (Deanna) Giguere, all of Auburn, Richard Berube of W. Minot, James Berube, Roland Berube, both of Auburn, and Leo Berube Jr. of Lewiston; a sister, Lucille, of Florida; and brother, Raymond, of Deerfield, Fla.; 11 grandchildren, Lisa Bernier, Jennifer Lawlor, Ricky Lessard, Dustin Lessard, Karie Lessard, Ryan Berube, Megan Berube, Matthew Berube, Shawn Bernier, Beth Doherty, Rhonda Tilley; and six great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Irene McIntire, in 1990; her granddaughter, Sonya Munsey, in 1995; her great-granddaughter, Rayna Grace Lawlor, in 2001; three brothers, Robert, Arthur, Antonio; and a sister, Joan.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 7, at Gracelawn Memorial Park in Auburn. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to the Hospice House of AHCH, and wishes to extend their thanks to them and CMMC for the outstanding care and attention she received.
Grace R. Laliberte
