AUBURN — Isabelle Little Wyman, 94, formerly of Amherst, Mass., passed away peacefully Tuesday, Aug. 28, in Auburn while living at Clover Manor.
Isabelle was born to Mary and George Willard Billings on a dairy farm in Friendship, Wis. She graduated from the Adams-Friendship High School in 1942 and from the University of Wisconsin in 1946, followed by two years of teaching in Antigo, Wis.
In 1948, Isabelle married Professor Henry N. Little, formerly of Portland. In 1951, they moved to Amherst, Mass., where they spent the remainder of their married life.
Isabelle worked as a guide at Historic Deerfield for 24 years, was a master weaver, a past president of the University of Massachusetts Women’s Organization, a longtime member of the Amherst Women’s Club and a loyal friend to all who knew her.
Following Henry’s death in 1989, Isabelle traveled extensively around the world. In 1997, she married Professor Raymond Wyman (died in 2010), who shared her love of travel and hiking.
She was the loving mother of Nathan (Karen) Little of Ramsey, N.J., Dana (Kay) Little of Auburn and Karen (John) Gilmer of Kingsport, Tenn.; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Joyce, and five siblings.
A private memorial service will be held by the family.
