WILTON — For those who are looking to make a change in careers or get a new job, the Wilton CareerCenter offers programs for job-seekers.
Vocational Rehabilitation Orientation — 9 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 6. This is an orientation for people with disabilities who are considering vocational rehabilitation services. Orientations at the Wilton CareerCenter are held the first Thursday of the month. Service providers are also welcome to attend. Registration not required.
Rumford area
Vocational Rehabilitation Orientation — 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, at Region 9 School of Applied Technology, 377 River Road, Mexico. Orientations here are held the third Wednesday of the month. Service providers are also welcome to attend. Registration not required.
Small Business Administration will offer three workshops: Starting Your Own Small Business, Access to Capital and Federal and State Resources for Small Business. Most of these are two hours long. For more information, call Bill Card at 207-622-8555.
CareerCenters, part of the Maine Department of Labor, offer a variety of services to help people find employment or upgrade skills. Each center provides several public-access computer workstations with Microsoft Office software, resume writing and cover letter software, Internet access and O*Net software for skills assessment. All CareerCenter services are free of charge.

The Wilton CareerCenter, located at 865 U.S. Route 2E in Wilton, is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Staff work directly with employers, educational institutions and other stakeholders on their needs for a quality work force during the rest of the week.
