AUBURN — The Auburn-Lewiston Rotary Club recently chose officers for the coming year.
The new president is Brian DuBois, owner of DuBois Realty Group of Keller Williams. He lives in Auburn with his wife and three children. DuBois has been in Rotary for 18 years and is very active in the Auburn/Lewiston community.
“I find that Rotary is consistent with my values and continues to provide opportunities to impact the community while networking with community stakeholders, DuBois said. “Rotary’s ‘Service Above Self’ mantra is a humbling reminder of what is truly important in life. I encourage others to become involved in Rotary, either with our breakfast club at 7 a.m. each Wednesday at the United Methodist Church on Park Avenue in Auburn, or with our sister club at noon at the Village Inn Restaurant.”
DuBois said he is hoping to increase membership. The club will also continue its fundraisers, an annual golf tournament held every June and a bike criterium held every August to help support charitable causes in the community.
Other officers for the coming year are President-elect Dave Foster, Vice President Kim Preble, Treasurer Norm Lamie, Secretary Terri Kelsea and immediate past president Pete Preble.
Under Preble’s leadership in the past year the club raised more than $500 for Polio Plus during their Pints for Polio Night at Gritty’s in Auburn. The club also planted trees near Lake Auburn, served a Thanksgiving meal at the Boys and Girls Club, helped the Salvation Army during its kettle drive and donated to numerous charities in the community.
The Auburn-Lewiston Rotary Club was founded in 1991 and since then has made more than $500,000 in charitable contributions. The club meets every Wednesday at 7:15 at the United Methodist Church in Auburn. Guests are always welcome to attend meetings.
