BETHEL — Sydney Plourde scored 4:30 into the game and Lisbon’s defense took care of the rest in a 3-0 win over Telstar in MVC field hockey action on Monday.

Sadie Hardt and Jessica Schlotterbeck also found the back of the cage for the Greyhounds, who held the Rebels (0-5) without a shot on goal in the second half.

Perry Morton made eight saves for Lisbon (1-3).

Mt. Ararat 1, Oxford Hills 0

SOUTH PARIS — Hannah Huston’s first half goal stood up at Mt. Ararat emerged from a defensive battle with Oxford Hills with a 1-0 victory.

Wyley Fitzpatrick and Holly Temple assisted on the goal. Lily Schenk and Emma Lapreziosa combined for five saves and the shutout for the Eagles (4-0). Maddy Day made four stops in the cage for the Vikings (2-2).

Brunswick 5, Lewiston 1

BRUNSWICK — Brunswick High School scored twice in the first half and three more times in the second to put away Lewiston High School 5-1 on Monday in field hockey.

Sara Scrapchansky and Shea Sullivan both paced the Dragons with two goals a piece with Lauren Jacobs tacking on a fifth. Erin Coughlin tallied two goals in the win.

Erin Lachance scored 16 minutes into the second half for Lewiston.

St. Dom’s 6, Wells 0

Caroline Johnson scored four goals as Saint Dominic’s Academy shut out Well 6-0 in field hockey on Monday.

Johnson scored four times, twice assisted by Paige Cote and Bailey Derocher. Cote also tallied two goals for the Saints. Kylie Leavitt assisted twice. St. Dom’s goalie Simone Long came up with 11 saves in the win.

Girls’ Soccer

Spruce Mountain 5, Hyde 2

RUMFORD — Jaycee Cole scored two goals to start the game and Spruce Mountain High School was able to pull away from Hyde School on Monday for a 5-2 win in girls’ soccer.

Calley Baker and Cole both scored twice and received an extra goal from Sierra Mitchell to start the second half and that was all they needed to get the victory.

Maggie Lyles scored the opening goal for Hyde which was followed by a Lily Huettel goal three minutes later.

Hyde’s Bell Braitberg saved 14 shots, while Annabelle Collins saved nine for the Phoenix.

Boys’ Soccer

Spruce Mountain 4, Dirigo 0

DIXFIELD — Spruce Mountain scored two goals in each half to blank Dirigo 4-0 on Monday in a boys’ soccer match up.

Spruce Mountain received a goal from four different players as Andrew Shaw, Owen Bryant, Jack Gilbert and Bryce Chavez all put a ball into the back of the net for the Phoenix. Spruce Mountain also outshot Dirigo, 18-7.

Mt. Abram 6, Mountain Valley 2

STRONG — Tyson Hill and Evan Allen both scored a pair of goals as Mt. Abram defeated Mountain Valley 6-2 on Monday in boys’ soccer.

Hill opened the scoring just 13 minutes into the game. Kenyon Pillsbury and Denny Marble both notched a goal on the day also.

Will Sorensen was the lone goal scorer for Mountain Valley.

Mt. Abram’s goalkeeper Jack Deming made four saves on the day.
