LEWISTON — Roland L. Potvin, 72, of Poland peacefully passed away Sunday Sept. 9, at CMMC in Lewiston.
He was born in Lewiston on Dec. 7, 1945, the son of the late Lionel and Stella (Dion) Potvin. He grew up in the Lewiston area and attended local schools. He was a graduate of St. Dominic Regional High School, and later went on to study respiratory therapy at Yale University.
Later, he worked for more than 20 years at St. Mary’s Hospital as a respiratory therapist.
Roland will always be remembered for his love of the outdoors. He was quite the hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by his life partner, Signe Cadman, of Poland; his two sons: Peter Potvin of New Jersey and Tim Potvin of North Carolina; a godson, Justin Pelletier; cousins Jackie Potvin, Maggie Pelletier, George St. Clair and Marlene Racine; a niece, Tina Austin; and four grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Anne Marie; his granddaughter, Ellie Potvin; and his sister, Venise Austin.
