RUMFORD — Police are investigating a motorcycle crash Thursday evening that claimed the life of a local man.

The lone rider was identified as Paul Pelletier, 57, who was operating a 2008 Harley-Davidson north on South Rumford Road, according to a police report. He got onto the road shoulder, lost control and was thrown off the bike, according to police.  

Police Chief Stacy Carter said Friday that the incident remained under investigation.
