LEWISTON — Doris L. Lagueux Simard, 85, formerly of 10 Oak St., passed away Wednesday morning, Sept. 12, at St. Mary’s d’Youville Pavilion with her family by her side. She was born Oct. 20, 1932, in Lewiston.
She worked at Bates Manufacturing Co. in Lewiston and Goodman Wiping Cloth in Auburn. She was a member of the Pastime Club. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She enjoyed spending time with her family, loved dancing, cooking, playing cards, making puzzles and socializing with friends. She loved the holidays; having all family from near and far meant the world to her. Some will remember her as the candy lady; every visitor was offered candy from the candy drawer. Everyone who met her loved her.
She leaves behind two loving daughters, Pauline Verrill of Lewiston and Joan Bolduc of Greene; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her father, Algernold Lagueux; mother, Clara Bizier Lagueux; loving son, Marc Trepanier; and two brothers, Albert and Roger Lagueux.
The family would like to give a special thank-you to Beacon Hospice and all who cared for Doris at d’Youville Pavilion.
The interment/service will be from 11 to 11:30 a.m. Monday, Sept. 24, at Gracelawn Memorial Park, 980 Turner St., Auburn. A celebration of life, potluck-style, will follow from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. at House Of Bacon, 34 Court St., Auburn. Please contact her daughters Pauline or Joan or grandaughter, Paula, with information on a dish you would like to bring or for any questions you may have, so we can make things run smoothly. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Beacon Hospice, 245 Center St., Suite 10a, Auburn, ME 04210.
