GRAY — Drew LaCerda had a goal and an assist as the Patriots (1-4-1) came from behind to erase a 2-1 deficit and edge the Raiders (2-4) in a boys’ soccer matchup Thursday.
Keegan Brooks had the winner with 13 minutes remaining, as LaCerda chipped in a direct kick to the far post that Brooks knocked in on a one-timer inside the box. Lawson Dunford also scored for Gray-New Gloucester.
Fryeburg Academy received goals from Gunnar Gurnis and Caden Daigle.
Brannon Gilbert finished with six saves in the win. Cullen Pietrantonic made five saves for the Raiders.
Mt. Abram 2, Oak Hill 1
SALEM — Evan Allen scored the go-ahead goal midway through the second half to give the Roadrunners the MVC boys’ soccer win over the Raiders on Thursday.
JB Jordan scored the other goal for Mt. Abram (5-0-0). Goalie Jack Deming made three saves.
Nico Soucy scored for Oak Hill (4-2-0), and Cole Whitten stopped 13 shots.
Hall-Dale 8, Lisbon 0
LISBON — Josh Nadeau and Alec Byron each scored four goals as the Hall-Dale boys’ soccer team dispatched Lisbon 8-0 on Thursday.
Byron also had an assist for the unbeaten Bulldogs (7-0). Akira Warren set up a team-high two goals.
Greyhounds (3-4) goalie Sean Moore made four saves.
Traip Academy 1, Poland 0
POLAND — Traip held off an attacking Poland Thursday and edged out a 1-0 win in boys’ soccer Thursday evening.
Frankie Driscoll scored on a penalty kick for the only goal of the game for Traip.
Poland outshot Traip 8-6 and also had six corners to Traip’s four.
Field hockey
Cony 1, Edward Little 0
AUGUSTA — Sierra Prebit scored the lone goal to give the Rams the KVAC field hockey win over the Red Eddies.
Kami Lambert and Julia Reny each had an assist on the goal for Cony (5-2-0).
Edward Little falls to 3-4-0.
Oxford Hills 3, Hampden 1
HAMPDEN — Brooke Carson and Jade Smedberg each had a goal and an assist to lead Oxford Hills to a 3-1 field hockey victory over Hampden on Thursday.
The Vikings (4-3-1) and Broncos (0-8) were tied 1-1 at the break.
Hampden’s lone goal was scored by from Grace Bennett.
Goalie Maddy Day had three saves for Oxford Hills, while goalie Isabella Gould defended eight for Hampden in the losing effort.
Poland 3, Cape Elizabeth 1
POLAND — Brianna Doucette scored a pair of goals to lead Poland to a 3-1 victory over Cape Elizabeth in field hockey action Thursday afternoon.
The Knights (5-2) led 2-0 at the half. Autumn Willis rounded out the scoring for Poland.
Kaitlyn Norrad netted the lone goal for the Capers (0-7).
Goalie Ashton Sturtevant had four saves for Poland in the winning effort.
Skowhegan 4, Lewiston 1
LEWISTON — Emily Reichenbach collected a pair of early goals to lead Skowhegan to a 4-1 victory over Lewiston in field hockey action Thursday.
Alexis Michonski assisted on Reichenbach’s second goal, then scored one of her own in the second half before assisting on the Indians’ final goal.
Abigail Chartier converted a pass from Grace Dumond at 18:38 of the first half for the Blue Devils’ lone score.
Ashley Cronkhite made 32 saves for Lewiston, while Mackenzie McConnell stopped 12 shots to earn the win.
Winslow 3, Leavitt 1
TURNER — Silver Clukey scored a pair of goals to lead Winslow to a 3-1 triumph over Leavitt in field hockey action Thursday.
The Raiders (6-1) and Hornets (4-3) were tied 1-1 at the midpoint. Karlie Ramsdell netted the eventual winning goal.
Mallory Casey made 12 saves for Leavitt, while Leah Pelotte stopped two shots to earn the win.
Girls’ soccer
Gray-New Gloucester 9, Fryeburg 0
FRYEBURG — Alexa Thayer scored three goals, and Jordan Grant and Laurel Thomas added two apiece as the Patriots (3-3) handled the Raiders (1-4-1) in WMC girls’ soccer Thursday.
Bri Jordan and Maddie Brown also scored for Gray-New Gloucester.
Morgan Fusco made 12 saves for Fryeburg.
Oxford Hills 3, Mt. Ararat 2
PARIS — Cecelia Dieterich scored all three goals as Oxford Hills edged Mt. Ararat in girls’ soccer Thursday afternoon.
The Vikings (4-2-1) and Eagles (3-3) kept pace with each other throughout. The contest was tied 1-1 at the half.
Reese Turcotte put the Eagles on the board first, and assisted on Erin Hartly’s second-half tally.
Goalie Abby Sirois made 11 saves for Mt. Ararat, while Jillian Douglas repelled eight to earn the win in net for Oxford Hills.
