PORTLAND — Betty Lou Butler, 80, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 18, at Birchwoods at Canco in Portland.

She was born Aug. 3, 1938, to Linwood and Caroline (Pike) Littlefield. She graduated from Portland High School. She was a member of the Harrison Order of the Eastern Star Elmvale 105 and the Civil Air Patrol. Betty loved cooking, gardening and arts and crafts. Betty enjoyed many afternoons in her craft shack creating beautiful dried flower arrangements for friends and family. Betty also enjoyed hunting and fishing. She was an artist and loved painting.

She is survived by her daughters, Cindy Downs and her husband, Daniel, of Lincoln, Patty Grassi of Portland, Donna Weatherbee of Portland and Susan Weatherbee of Westbrook; grandchildren, Shannon Shorey, Kasie Gray, Alexa Olsen and TJ Grassi; great-grandchildren, Brianah and Harleigh Weston, Jameson Peters, Hope Gray and Dakota Grassi; her siblings, Ann Sabasteanski and Lois West; niece, Kathy Fulton.

She was predeceased by her husbands, Donald Weatherbee in 1976, and Robert Butler in 2011; and her brother, Richard Littlefield.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23, at Elmwood Cemetery in Otisfield. Arrangements are under the care of Chandler Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, 45 Main St., South Paris.
