LEWISTON — Ben Stasium returned a punt for a touchdown and Zach Elowitch rushed for three TDs as the Bulldogs defeated the Blue Devils 28-14 in Class A North football Friday night.
Stasium put Portland (3-1) ahead in the second quarter, and Elowitch’s first touchdown made it 14-0 at halftime.
Elowitch extended the lead to 28-0 with two more TDs before Lewiston (1-3) got rushing touchdowns form Dom Colon and Tanner Cortes in the fourth quarter.
Boys’ soccer
Buckfield 7, Vinalhaven/North Haven 0
BUCKFIELD — Jacob Toomey scored off a Noah Wiley throw-in to get Buckfield (4-2-1) on its way to shutout Vinalhaven (1-3) in boys’ soccer Friday.
Elijah Chasse contributed one goal and one assist. Dylan Harvey, Victor Verrill, Caleb Chabe, Quang Bui and Zach Shields also scored for the Bucks.
Buckfield goalies Kraske and Donahue protected the net to notch the shutout.
Vinalhaven goalie Frank Osgood made 14 saves.
Girls’ soccer
Buckfield 13, Vinalhaven/North Haven 0
BUCKFIELD — Hannah Shields and Isabell Laughton scored hat tricks as Buckfield crushed Vinalhaven in girls’ soccer action Friday.
The Bucks (3-3-1) led 8-0 at the half. Sami Patenaude and Katy Henderson contributed two goals apiece for Buckfield.
Goalie Jazmyn Robishaw made 11 saves for the Vikings, while Ruby Cyr turned away two shots to earn the win in net for Buckfield.
Hall-Dale 5, Winthrop 3
WINTHROP — Iris Ireland had a hat trick to lead the Bulldogs to a 5-3 MVC girls’ soccer win Friday.
Madisyn Smith added two goals for Hall-Dale (6-2-0) and Maggie Gross made nine saves.
Aaliyah WilsonFalcone, Hanna Easton and Jillian Schmelzer scored the goals for the Ramblers (6-3-0), and Brooke Turnham made 15 saves.
Lisbon 2, Spruce Mountain 1
JAY — Kiley Merritt notched the game-winning goal at 12:49 of the second half to lift Lisbon to a 2-1 victory over Spruce Mountain in girls’ soccer action Friday afternoon.
Calley Baker opened the scoring at the 25:12 mark of the first half to put the Phoenix up 1-0 at the midpoint.
Giana Russo tied the game at 1-1 early in the second half for the Greyhounds.
Goalie Annabelle Collins made eight saves for Spruce Mountain, while Sarah Hagerty stopped five to earn the win in net for Lisbon.
Wiscasset 3, Dirigo 0
DIXFIELD — Alyssa Bassett scored two goals in the first half to lead Wiscasset to a 3-0 victory over Dirigo in girls’ soccer action Friday.
The Wolverines led 2-0 at the half. Gwen Webber rounded out the scoring for Wiscasset.
Goalie Katie Morse made 13 saves for the Cougars, while Lily Souza defended five to earn the win in net for Wiscasset.
Field hockey
Mountain Valley 10, Hall-Dale 0
RUMFORD — Rylee Sevigny scored a hat trick and set up four other Mountain Valley goals in a 10-0 field hockey win over Hall-Dale on Friday.
Bre Burgess led the Falcons (7-2) with four goals, and Faith Riddick finished with three goals. Avery Sevigny had two assists. Abby Gauvin was in the net for the shutout but didn’t face any shots.
Mia Rollins made nine saves and Kelsey Cormier made 10 for Hall-Dale (1-8) in the losing effort.
Oak Hill 3, Dirigo 0
DIXFIELD — Adele Surette connected with Zoe Buteau twice in Oak Hill’s 3-0 field hockey victory over Dirigo on Friday.
Surette scored the first and third goals in the contest. Desirae Dumais found the back of the cage for an unassisted tally at the 27:36 mark of the second half.
Goalie Allie Dyke made five saves for the Cougars, while Mackenzie Thibeault prevented six to earn the win in net for Oak Hill.
Spruce Mountain 6, Boothbay 1
JAY — Erin McPherson had two goals an assist to help lead Spruce Mountain to a 6-1 victory over Boothbay in field hockey action Friday.
Emily Castonguay had a goal and an assist, and Auri Armandi, Julie Doiron and Brooke Buote each contributed a goal for the Phoenix (6-3). Melissa Banford had nine saves and Jayden Acorn had seven saves, as the two split time in the Phoenix net.
Chloe Arsenault had the Seahawks’ (2-7) lone goal. Maddie Porter made nine saves in the losing effort.
Winthrop 9, Telstar 0
WINTHROP — Katie Perkins had two goals and two assists to pace the Ramblers to the MVC field hockey win over the Rebels on Friday.
Maddie Perkins added two goals for Winthrop (8-0-0) while Devyn Taylor, Lindsay Letourneau, Nora Conrad and Moriah Hajduk had one apiece.
Terry Morton made 14 saves for Telstar (0-8-0).
