LIVERMORE FALLS — The General Federation of Women’s Clubs/Livermore Falls Women’s Club installed officers for the 2018-2020 term at the Masonic Hall in Livermore.

Lucille Lavoie installed Frances Berry, parliamentarian; Ellen Young, president; Susan Sylvester, vice president; Bonnie Perkins, secretary; and Christine Fournier, treasurer.

Marjorie Black, state chairman of Episilon Sigma Omigron, a reading program,
presented Ruth Gammon with her Torch Certificate, Nancy Conant with her Century Certificate and Muriel Bowerman, with a certificate for reading more than 300 books.

Susan Sylvester presented Muriel Bowerman with a framed photo of her receiving the Spirit of America Award from Matt Dunlap, Maine secretary of state, and Rep. Tina Riley of Jay at the June election. The award was for Bowerman’s many hours as ballot clerk.

Committees for the next two years are as follows: Election Bake Sale, Ghislaine Berube, Betty Forbes, Lucille Lavoie and Barbara Letalien; Harris House, Betty Forbes, Christine Judd, Bonnie Perkins, Susan Sylvester, Madeleine Wininger and Ellen Young; Raffle Baskets, Muriel Bowerman, Ruth Gammon, Betty Nichols, Lisa Townsend; Bylaws, Ruth Gammon, Barbara Letalien and Ellen Young; and Membership, Ghislaine Berube, Christine Fournier, Susan Sylvester and Ellen Young.

Those interested in the General Federation of Women’s Clubs and the Livermore Falls Women’s Club is invited to the open house at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, at the Masonic Hall in Livermore. Attendees will have the opportunity to speak with members about both organizations and what they do for the community.
