NORWAY — Joseph A. Boudreau, 85, of South Paris passed on peacefully, Tuesday, Oct. 2, at Stephens Memorial Hospital in Norway.
He was born Aug. 10, 1933, in Goffstown, N.H., a son of Joseph C. and Josephine L. (Morin) Boudreau. He attended Fitchburg, Mass., schools graduating from Fitchburg High School in 1951. Joe went on to attend Fitchburg State College, earning degrees in computer science and mathematics.
Joe worked for many years as a security software engineer for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
In retirement, he moved to Gilead and later to South Paris. Joe’s interests were many and his endeavors great. He dabbled in local and state politics, belonged to the Genealogical Society, never passed by a yard sale and enjoyed displaying his fondness for the New York Yankees. His greatest pleasure undoubtedly over the last several years was the time he was able to spend with his longtime companion, Joyce Linindoll. They were inseparable and enjoyed many things, particularly traveling, dancing and time with their families.
He will be remembered and missed by his many friends in the community, including the First Congregational Church in South Paris, the Paris Historical Society, which saw him lead the addition to its existing building, the staff at Daddy O’s, his “office” at Doe’s and his many neighbors in both Gilead and South Paris.
Joe is survived by his children, Judy Hardern of Holden, Mass., and Joseph A. Boudreau II of Royalston, Mass.; grandchildren, Dana Seminoff and his wife, Carissa, of Lunenburg, Mass., and their children, Liam and Lilly, Eric Seminoff and his fiancee, Tiffany, of Townsend, Mass., and Kendrick Boudreau, son of Joseph, of Hubbardston, Mass.; siblings, Elizabeth Dore of Hardwick, Vt., Albert Bourdreau and his wife, Annie, of Winchendon, Mass., and Charles Boudreau of Machias.
He was predeceased by his beloved Joyce Linindoll; a brother-in-law, Herbert Dore; and a brother, Thomas Boudreau.
The family would like to extend a special thank-you to the staff of Market Square Rehabilitation for the heartfelt care they gave Joe while he was in their care.
A memorial service to celebrate Joe’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, at the First Congregational Church in South Paris.
Condolences may be shared with his family at www.chandlerfunerals.com. Arrangements are in the care of the Chandler Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 45 Main St., South Paris.
