Auburn – Ronald S. Call, 82, a longtime resident of Greene, passed away, Friday, October 5th at Bolster Heights Health Care in Auburn. He was born July 10, 1936 in Dresden, the son of Lawrence Call and Florence (Sylvester) Call. Ronald was a 1956 graduate of Leavitt Institute in Turner. On November 20, 1965 in Turner, he married his wife of 43 years, Sharon Brown of Turner. Sharon passed July 24, 2009. Ron worked as a shipfitter at Bath Iron Works and later as a security guard for Knapp Shoe retiring in 1993. He was a life member of the Greene Baptist Church and enjoyed serving as a choir member. Ron enjoyed hunting and fishing and was also a life member of the National Rifle Association (NRA). His passion was John Deere Tractors, guns and antique cars. He is survived by three sons, Andrew Call and his wife Nancy of Dresden Mills; Edward Call and his wife Cynthia of Greene; and Christopher Call of Topsham; and his daughter, Rhonda Call of Turner; 4 grandchildren, Brooke, Nadine, Helen and Makayla; 5 great-grandchildren, Easton, Emersyn, Landen, Jayda and Jamison, his brothers, Robert Call of Dresden and Lawrence Call of Oakland; his brothers, Robert Call of Dresden and Lawrence Call of Oakland. He was predeceased by his parents, his wife Sharon, granddaughter, Audrey Call and brother Richard Call. The family would like to thank the staff at Bolster Heights for their care and compassion to Ronald and his family. Funeral services will held 3PM, Friday, October 12th at the Greene Baptist Church, 102 Main Street, Greene, Maine. Visitation will be from 2-3 PM at the church prior to the funeral service.
