Ladies of St. Anne membership meeting
LEWISTON — The Ladies of St. Anne Sodality of Holy Family, Prince of Peace Parish are planning a general membership meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17 in the parish hall. The doors will be opened at 5:30.
Halloween Bingo will be played after a short business meeting. Admission will be a roll of paper towels and/or a bar of soap to be donated. Refreshments will be served.

Maine author to speak about book
NEW GLOUCESTER — Maine author Mary Morton Cowan will speak about her new book featuring Cyrus Field and his transatlantic cable at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, at the New Gloucester Meetinghouse, 389 Intervale Road (Route 231).
This event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served. Sponsored by the New Gloucester Historical Society.
